This author is pleased to present some pieces of “work” created with DALL.E 2 computer generation that is presented here as a showcase for what DALL.E 2 can do.What the AI software is capable of doing is to create what can be arguably be considered“Art” from text based instructions using natural language processing. It does however takes some experimentation before satisfactory results can be achieved.

As with chatGPT, it does take a bit of skill, knowledge and creativity in doing the “spec-in” for these pieces of computer generated art. With DALL.E 2, the ordinary man in the street can emulate masters like Lin Hsin Hsin. While one does not need a diploma or degree in art history and art appreciation to create computer generated art that can be considered by artists themselves to be “fine art”, nevertheless, a rudimentary knowledge of art history, at least the artistic styles of different famous artists, masters, art schools and movements does help. A fair bit of linguistic or language skill in “specifying” these pieces of computer art generation does help too.Art ‘sense’ and affinity is certainly a plus! Nevertheless, the author finds it difficult to determine DALL.E 2’s output in its present incarnation… perhaps, later versions of this rapidly evolving…
